Championship club Crystal Palace have decided to keep highly rated youngster Jonathan Williams on a long-term contract. The 18-year-old has been one of the impressive players for Crystal Palace in an otherwise disappointing season for the club, which culminated in a 17th place finish. Jonathan Williams made his debut for Crystal Palace back in August and has been one of the impressive players this season. He has so far made 18 appearances now, but is now set for a bright future at the club after they have offered the youngster a new five year deal.

The club have expressed their at the prospect of being able to keep one of their best players at the club on a long-term contract. Despite being only 18 years old, Jonathan Williams contributed significantly to the Crystal Palace cause this season. He made 6 assists during the entire season, but Crystal Palace acknowledged that this figure could have been significant if he had not suffered as many injuries as he has done this season.
“It feels great to have signed a deal with the club I’ve grown up playing for. Palace is a major part of my life. I’ve had time to get stronger physically and psychologically as well since I’ve been injured,” said Jonathan Williams on the official website of Crystal Palace following the announcement of this new deal. Crystal Palace finished the season in the 17th position. They were only eight points about the relegation zone and the club would be hoping for a much better return next season.
