Tony Pulis has been appointed as the new manager of the Premier League side Crystal Palace. He has been signed for 2 and half years by the Eagles.
Pulis will not be in charge for Palace’s next game against Hull City though. It’s the caretaker manager Millen who will manage the team in that game. Pulis’ first game as the Eagles boss will be against Norwich City at the end of this month.
Pulis had been without any job since the last 6 months. He had been terminated from his post of manager at Stoke City earlier this year.
A big challenge is awaiting Pulis at Crystal Palace which is one of the bottom two teams in the league points table at the moment. The Eagles have managed to secure just a couple of victories in the Premier League this season and they have got only 7 points out of their 12 games so far.
Tony Pulis is expected to be quite busy during the upcoming mid-season transfer window. He reportedly wants the Crystal squad to be strengthened and he is believed to have made the board aware of his desire. It should not be surprising for anybody if he makes a couple of big signings this January.
A statement released by Crystal Palace yesterday afternoon confirmed the appointment of Pulis.
That statement says, “Tony Pulis will take over as new manager at Selhurst Park after being away from management for a few months.”
Pulis had had a great time at his previous club Stoke City. He stayed there for a long period of 7 years and guided them to many memorable victories.
Meanwhile, there have been speculations that the caretaker Eagles manager Millen might find himself in the support staff of Tony Pulis. One of the Crystal Palace owners hinted that in an interview of his yesterday.
