Palace Manages To Scrape Draw Under Warnock

Crystal Palace managed to get a point out of their first match under Neil Warnock after a 3-3 draw with Newcastle United at St James’s Park. This is the second stint in charge of Crystal Palace for Warnock, who had previously left the club to join QPR a few years ago. Crystal Palace would not have been in the Premier league had it not been for the brilliance of Tony Pulis, who managed to take the club from relegation battle into a Champions League form towards the end of the season.

However, there was a huge surprise in store for Crystal Palace fans ahead of the new season after Pulis resigned from his job just days before the first match of the season. This was followed by a number of setbacks for Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parrish in appointing a successor for Pulis, but he finally has gotten an experienced candidate in the form of Warnock. The former Sheffield United manager has a lot of knowledge of the club, which will come in handy the next few months as they attempt to avoid relegation.

Warnock’s second spell got off to a good start after Crystal Palace came back several times to draw the match 3-3 with a goal from on loan star Wilfried Zaha. “They’re just a great bunch, I’m absolutely chuffed with their attitude.  I usually have to build a squad like this but Tony must have done a fabulous job because they’ve got so much character and determination and they can play a bit as well. I felt at half time that we’d been disappointing in the final third,” said the new Crystal Palace manager after the match to pay tributes to the work done by his predecessor.

This was the first point of the season for Crystal Palace after the previous two defeats.
