IT WILL BE TOUGH

The Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman has said that it is going to be tough for him to bring in some new players before the end of the transfer window. The club has lost some key players during this transfer window, but it looks like they will not be replacing them due to the financial constraints at the club. The manager has said that he is completely aware of the financial situation at the club and is more than happy to keep things going with what he has in his hands. Darren Ambrose, Sean Scannell, and Nathaniel Clyne are some of the key players who have left the club in the summer.

They will be a massive loss for the club in the forthcoming season according to the manager, but reckons that he does not have the financial ability or muscle to be able to bring in replacements. So far, the manager has spent about £ 400,000 in revamping the squad. He has been able to bring in two players on a free transfer, while the only person who has cost the £ 400,000 is the defender Joel Ward, who was signed from Portsmouth. Peter Ramage and Aaron Wilbraham have been brought to the club on a free transfer.

“Frustration is not the word. We have got to be very honest with where we are in the world of finances. We grow players, sell them, move on and work hard to try and get new ones in. The fans understand that. I’m a very happy manager that’s working with a lot of good young players. My role is to keep the momentum and the club moving forward and get one or two youngsters in the team,” said Dougie Freedman ahead of the start of the new season.
