Warnock made new transfer record

During the summer transfer window which concluded a few weeks ago, Neil Warnock was given a transfer budget big enough for him to reinforce all areas of the squad from the defence to the attackers.

A total of 8 players were brought into Crystal Palace either by signing the on a full ownership deal or after having reached the end of a loan deal and these players are: Fraizer Campbell, Brede Hangeland, Martin Kelly, Wilfried Zaha, Ezekiel Fryers, James McArthur, Kevin Doyle and Andy Johnson.

Neil Warnock established a new transfer record for Crystal Palace after bringing James McArthur from Wigan for a transfer fee of €7 million.

The chairman and co-owner of Crystal Palace, Steve Parish has revealed to the public that Neil Warnock will be given once more a hefty transfer budget for him to continue signing players that can add quality and value to the club.

‘’There’s money available if we get the right targets, but sometimes you don’t have to spend money. It’s almost now like there’s a league table of who’s spent what. People believe that’s how the real league table is going to finish’’

‘’We will look at opportunities where we can strengthen our football club. We’re not going to sign players and Neil won’t sign players that he doesn’t think are better than anybody we’ve got. That would upset the apple cart. That’s not easy, signing players that are better than what you’ve got and then your academy kids coming through, it’s not easy’’ Steve Parish told reporters.

Crystal Palace made their return to the Premier League on May of 2013 and ever since then they have been fighting to stay in the top tier English League. The objective of Steve Parish, Neil Warnock and all of the authorities of the club is to remain in the Premier League; this is why the transfer budget that has been given to the head coach has been increasing substantially as they want to sign more players that can help them achieve their objective of continue competing in the Premier League.
